چکیده

Objective: Although the length of hospital stay after lumbar microdiscectomy operations, one most common surgical interventions in current neurosurgery practice, is quite short, nausea-vomiting and urinary retention, particularly postoperative pain, may prolong this period. Also, systemic side effects occur cases due to pharmacological agents applied for pain control. This study was conducted seek answers whether bupivacaine administered intraoperatively into paravertebral muscle mass decrease need narcotic analgesics and/or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Materials Methods: Lumbar disc hernia patients with a similar history age, gender, body weight, level, preoperative score, analgesic use were included between 01.06.2020 31.06.2021 (n=48). The control group consisted who did not receive intramuscular during single-level operations under general anesthesia named as 1 (n=24). 2 After operation, assessment frequency morphine sulfate or pethidine hydrochloride performed Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). obtained data assessed one-way analysis variance, relationship parameters tested using Pearson correlation coefficient (r). Alpha significance value accepted <0.01. Results: It found comparisons groups that post-op VAS score (F=47.3; P=0.00), mobilization time (F=22.8; NSAIDs (F=12.7; (F= 12.6; P=0.00) statistically significant (P<0.01) bupivacaine. However, 2, although mean dose drug decreased from 11.46±16.45 mg 6.33±2.14 mg, it reported result (F=0.5; P=0.47) (P>0.01). determined there moderate positive mobilization. had strong above level (r=0.609) hospitalization (r=0.603). Conclusion: In which pre-op applied, operation significant, seen reduces NSAIDS-featured dexketoprofen trometamol significantly. These results make us think administration be effective controlling reducing additional analgesics.

Hepatotoxicity of non-narcotic analgesics.

The central role of the liver in drug metabolism sets the stage for drug-related hepatotoxicity. The incidence of hepatotoxicity associated with non-narcotic analgesics is low, but their widespread use both prescription and over-the-counter-makes analgesic-associated hepatotoxicity a clinically and economically important problem. Hepatotoxicity is considered a class characteristic of nonsteroid...

Insertion of paravertebral block catheters intraoperatively to reduce incidence of block failure.

Paravertebral block catheters are a recognized method of regional pain control after a thoractomy. We describe a technique of insertion with the belief that it provides a superior positioning of the paravertebral (extra-pleural) catheter resulting in a better distribution of the local anaesthetic and better pain control.

Supplementation of general anaesthesia with narcotic analgesics.

Four analgesic drugs--fentanyl, phenoperidine, morphine and pethidine--were compared in a double-blind trial involving 113 patients paralysed and ventilated with nitrous oxide and oxygen. The differences between the drugs were relatively small. There were only slight differences in "duration of action", a term which is questioned in this context. Pethidine appeared to have a slightly longer dur...

Narcotic analgesics as adjuncts to dental practice.

Pain is both a symptom and a sensation. As a symptom, pain signals danger and thus provokes appropriate reflexes. Sher rington,2 accordingly, described pain as “the psychical adjunct of an imperative protective reflex.” From a therapeutic viewpoint, pain is a valuable clinical symptom to the practitioner. It also follows that the management of pain— a symptom— must be subject to the same limit...
